Italian Diary : A Basilican Affair

The Basilica Papale di San Pietro of the Vatican City, commonly known as Saint Peter’s Basilica, is the most famous Roman Catholic church in the world and one of the holiest sites in Christendom.

St. Peter’s is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and one of the largest churches in the world. They say pictures don’t capture the magnificence, well it’s hard to describe. Overwhelmingly grand beauty felt absolutely incredible when I looked up inside the church. Fascinated by the magnificent art work of Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
